Welcome to our School of Biblical Theology. The SBT was formed in 1985 by DSBC to offer seminary training to men called to the ministry who were unable to financially attend a credited seminary. College professors volunteer their education, time, and experiences to the SBT for this seminary training. Students of SBT are required to complete the chaplaincy course, Biblical History, beginner and advanced courses in both the Greek and Hebrew languages, a thesis on book of 1 John and on book of Jonah, thirteen categories of systematic theology, hermeneutics, field training, and mentoring in evangelism and church ministries. If qualified, the only two requirements of the student are that he purchase his own books and that he live in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Since 1985, fifteen men have completed the SBT and received the Master’s Theology degree. “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13) “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)
