Our Benevolence & Shut-In Ministry

My name is Glenda Wolaver,

I am part of a team of people who make up the Benevolence and Shut-In Ministry. This ministry is actually made up of the women in our church. We have been known to solicit help from our husbands, children, and grandchildren when the need arises. In this ministry it is our mission to take care of the needs of our church family during the happy times of the births of new babies, the hectic and heart-rending times of the hospitalizations and/or sickness of loved ones and the grief stricken times in the deaths of dear ones. Our goal is to minister through physical and spiritual comfort, whether it's preparing meals, house-sitting, house-cleaning, running errands, mowing lawns - we sit with people, sing to people, pray with people - whatever needs to be done to ease their burden or to celebrate new-found happiness with them. All this we do in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for His sake.

In the words of Jesus, "I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another." John 13:34 - The Amplified Bible.
