This ministry reaches out to everyone who has met Jeanne and seen what she has accomplished through athletics. Jeanne was born with Spina Bifida, which left her paralyzed from
the waist down. When she was born, we were told she wouldn't live
two weeks. God certainly had other plans for her life. Jeanne has
been competing in wheelchair sports since she was twelve years
old. She started specializing in weightlifting when women were
sanctioned to compete in 1989. Jeanne was the first woman to compete
for the USA in an international competition in Alysbury, England
in 1989. She won the gold and set a She was selected by the sports writers of Alabama to receive the Fred Sington award as the Physically Challenged Female Athlete of the year for the state of Alabama. She won this in 1990 and 1998. She is the only disabled athlete to win this award twice. She was also chosen by Wheelchair Sports USA as the female athlete of the year for the US in 1997. Because of her accomplishments Jeanne has received a lot of publicity through the press and on TV. Jeanne is always quick to give her praise to God and share her motto. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me" Gary Horton an evangelist who speaks to teens all over the US tells about Jeanne and her accomplishments and shares her motto. He has said there have been people who have come to know the Lord in a personal way because of Jeanne's witness. We have had numerous people who have told us personally what an inspiration our lives have been to them. Jeanne trains at the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama. purpose of this ministry is to reflect the Believer's strength,
in the Person and Work of Jesus Christ through Jeanne's motto,
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ
who
strengthens me." Her message is that everyone has
an equal opportunity to glorify the Lord, "win the Gold" even
while under intense adversity!
