In Review:

The following five point homiletical outline will help review the Husband’s Responsibility to his Marriage.

1. Leadership of the husband (Eph.5:22-24) The husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is of the head of the church.
    
 
2. Love of the husband (Eph.5:25-28) The husband is commanded to love his wife - unconditionally.
    
3. Liability of the husband to his wife (Eph.5:28-30) The husband is obligated to love, nurture and cherish his wife just as Christ does the church.
    
4. Leaving and cleaving of the husband (Eph.5:31) The husband is to initiate intimacy to the wife’s soul, spirit and body as Christ did.
    
 
5. Lesson of the husband’s headship (Eph.5:32-33) The husband’s responsibility to Christ and his marriage is to restore his marriage relationship to its original status, just as Christ did to His relationship with man prior to fall of Adam.
    

“Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” (Matt.19:6)
