A Little R & R
This time two weeks ago I was headed to a vacation at the beach for a whole week. Man! did that week go by fast! Isn't that just how it always is though?! You wait a whole year for this great week of vacation and them WHAM! ... it flies through and has just come and gone before we know it. That week is so cherished though, isn't it?! And it is because it usually brings just what we take it for ... a little R&R ... some rest and some relaxation! And that's what I got last week, only I got A LOT of R&R. It occurs to me though that we don't have to wait until that one week out of the year to get the much needed R&R. In fact, God's Word tells us that we can get it anytime of the year. ... anytime of the day or night for that matter! Take a look ....
Acrostic:
R - REST ... for the weary!
Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light."
... and ...
R - RELAX ... it's good for the body and good for the soul!
Matthew 6:25-34 "For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing? Look at the birds of the air that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life's span? And why are you anxious about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these. But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O men of little faith? Do not be anxious then, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves?' For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
REST and RELAX!
and, as I once read:
Let go and let God
and He will REFRESH and REPLENISH you!
In fact,
we get that kind of R&R from Him every single morning ....
Lamentations 3:22-23
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
Amen and Amen!!
Praying many more blessings your way!
