Bagram, TF Guardian - 2:30PM
Local time
This is a prisoner detention
unit, guarding the local element as they're captured throughout the
countryside. We had the opportunity to speak to the unit, not the prisoners
in an enclosed room, 2nd floor, no AC and no fans, it being about 98F
outside - not sure how much weight we lost in those 45 minutes but Gary
was right on target! Again the troops really appreciated our coming
and to relay 'that message' from all of you.
Bagram, TF 325 Medical F force
- 7PM Local time
This is a level III medical
field facility, that's one level below your local hospital's capability.
The whole facility is under tent, well equipped and staffed by about
100 troops. They see about 3000 patients every month! We stood before
25% of that contingent, 25 troops and Gary was fantastic! We later were
invited back by the unit's commander for a walk through, seeing the
staff in action and visiting with the patients, several of which were
locals, i.e. four of which were injured in that bus bombing last week,
seeing them brought us close to tears. It's amazing what our forces
our providing for these people and the appreciation they are reflecting
back to our troops by their families. Pray for these troops, they're
right on the front line, 24/7 with limited resources.
